Coverage & enrollment
When coverage begins
Coverage becomes effective the first of the month following 30 days of employment.
How to enroll
Complete enrollment through Workday. New hires have 30 days from their date of hire to elect coverage.
Eligible dependents
Spouse or partner
- Legal spouse or common-law spouse (where recognized)
- Eligible domestic partner
- Domestic partners must be 18 or older
- Must be unrelated
- Must share residence and finances
- Must complete a signed affidavit and certification
Dependent children
- Children under age 26
- Includes birth, step, legally adopted, and foster children
- Includes children under legal guardianship
- Disabled dependents 26+ who cannot self-sustain may remain covered with periodic certification
- Verification is required at enrollment
Qualifying life events
- Marital status change
- Change in number of dependents
- Employment status change (Full-Time / Part-Time)
- Spouse's employment status change
- Marketplace eligibility
- Medicare / Medicaid entitlement
- Loss of Medicaid / CHIP eligibility
- Death in the family
- Turning 26 off a parent's plan
- Change in address or location
How to request a change
When a Qualifying Life Event occurs, you have 30 days to request changes to your coverage. Any changes related to Medicare, Medicaid, or CHIPs allow for 60 days to request changes. Your change in coverage must be consistent with your change in status. Reach out to TAS Energy's Human Resources with questions regarding specific life events and your ability to request changes.
